DESCRIPTION:
Clocks- 2 (Two): (1) Chauncey Jerome, Bristol, Conn., ogee shelf clock, 30 hour, time and strike, weight driven movement in a rosewood veneered case with brass dial and reverse painted glass tablets, c1840; (2) Seth Thomas Clock Co., Thomaston, Conn., "Chicago" city series mantel clock, 8 day, time and strike, spring driven movement in a rosewood veneered case, c1891.
CONDITION:
(1) The case has an original finish with some veneer loss along the bottom edge. The unusual brass dial is worn around the winding arbor holes. Nice reverse painted glasses. Paper label on the inside. The weights are modern replacements of the correct type. (2) Case with original finish with some dings and a small section of missing veneer on the back top edge. The gilding has worn off of the two columns. The signed painted metal dial only has losses around the three mounting screws. Inner paper label. The minute hand is too short and probably a replacement. The door glass is old. Dimensions are for the Jerome ogee clock (1) .
